There are nonprofit legal aid offices located throughout Virginia. These offices are branches of nonprofit organizations whose mission is to provide free civil legal services to low-income, elderly, and disabled clients. Find the most convenient legal aid office.
Legal aids help clients with a variety of different types of case, including: family law, domestic violence, housing law, elder law, public benefits claims, access to health care, child advocacy, bankruptcy, and consumer protection. Staff and volunteer lawyers provide legal advice, brief service, and representation in administrative hearings and in court, as well as community legal education, and advocacy before local and state governmental entities, all without charge eligible clients.
