The VA Law Help 2 Go is a mobile-friendly platform that provides legal information in video format to the public. This project is unique because it allows users to select the desired legal content via SMS text messaging and view brief, informational videos (in English or Spanish) optimized for mobile devices. These videos provide information about common topics in the area of family, consumer, and housing law. A link at the end of each video directs the viewer to the Virginia statewide website for more information and to connect them with the appropriate legal aid provider in their area.
The VA Law Help 2 Go project is a collaboration between Legal Services of Northern Virginia (LSNV) and two other legal aid partner programs in Virginia, Blue Ridge Legal Services (BRLS), and the Virginia Legal Aid Society (VLAS).
Getting to Know:
Legal Services of Northern Virginia
Legal Services of Northern Virginia (LSNV) is a non-profit public interest law firm that offers free legal assistance to low-income individuals of Northern Virginia. LSNV was established in 1980 and our mission is to promote justice for a better community by providing civil legal assistance to those facing the loss of a critical need.
LSNV’s goal is to secure necessary access to civil legal assistance. As a result, more low-income people will receive legal representation critical to equal justice. Others will be given legal advice that will assist them in understanding the judicial system and will improve their outcomes.
Blue Ridge Legal Services
Blue Ridge Legal Services, Inc. (BRLS) is a nonprofit charitable civil legal aid program providing free legal assistance in civil matters of critical importance to low-income residents of the Shenandoah Valley and Roanoke Valley.
BRLS is committed to eliminating poverty-based inequities in the civil justice system by providing high-quality legal advice and representation to low-income residents of our service area, folks who would otherwise be unable to obtain legal help due to their poverty.
Virginia Legal Aid Society

The mission of VLAS is to resolve the serious legal problems of low-income people, promote economic and family stability, reduce poverty through effective legal assistance, and to champion equal justice.
Legal Services Corporation
The Virginia Legal Aid Help 2 Go project is funded by the Legal Services Corporation’s Technology Initiative Grant (TIG) which seeks to improve legal services delivery to the low-income population and to increase access by low-income persons to high quality legal services, to the judicial system, and to legal information.
